New Delhi, Aug 15 (PTI) Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) on Monday launched a beta version of the DigiYatra application on the Android platform which will enable passengers to enjoy faster check-in at Terminal 3 from Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Under the Digi Yatra project, a passenger will pass through various checkpoints at the airport through paperless and contactless processing, using facial features to establish identity which would be linked to the boarding pass .

“DIAL had installed the required facility at Delhi Airport Terminal 3 and had already completed its DigiYatra trials. Nearly 20,000 passengers enjoyed a seamless and secure travel experience after using the facility during the trials “, reads its press release.

These approximately 20,000 passengers then submitted their biometric and other data via kiosks at Terminal 3 for their specific flights.

Now, passengers will submit their biometrics and other details through this app and they will remain stored for all flights they take at Terminal 3 at Delhi Airport. A passenger does not need to submit biometric details at Terminal 3 before each flight.

The beta version of the DigiYatra application is available on the Andriod platform and will be available on the IOS platform in a few weeks, DIAL said, adding that the application will be used by passengers to carry out all their biometric registration.

After downloading the app, the passenger will need to register their phone number and Aadhar card details. Then the passenger must take a selfie, add vaccination details and scan the boarding pass, he said. PTI DSP NSD
