Government bus tracking app launched in Telangana : Newsdrum


Hyderabad, Jul 27 (PTI) Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has launched a mobile application “TSRTC bus-tracking” to give passengers information about the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of buses and also allow their followed.

TSRTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan and Managing Director VC Sajjanar said on Tuesday that 96 depots across the state and 4,170 special type buses have been identified for the implementation of bus tracking and to provide l ‘ETA services for the convenience of passengers, according to a statement from the TSRTC.

The app would help passengers know about the arrival and departure of buses at various stops across Telangana and neighboring states where TSRTC services are available, so that passengers can plan their trip to avoid waiting times at stops /bus stations, he said.

Sajjanar said that to start with, 140 buses were identified for the pilot project involving tracking, of which 40 were cantonment and depot AC Pushpak buses from Miyapur-2 operated to the international airport here on different routes and 100 long distance. . bus from Miyapur-1 and Picket depots.

These buses were operated on routes like Srisailam, Vijayawada, Eluru, Bhadrachalam, Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam.

He further said that in few months, all booking services and special type services in the district as well as the city of Hyderabad will also be added to the app.

Passengers can search for bus service through the app and they can also use TSRTC’s emergency services like the women’s helpline, report breakdowns and accidents, if any, the statement said.

In a bid to improve public service, the state government computerized the transportation department and citizens received the services by following the citizen’s charter, an official statement said on Tuesday.

No less than 59 citizen services have gone live with a provision to make online payment and a tracked slot system for all services. On average, 33,000 transactions take place every day at state transportation offices, says PTI VVKNVG NVG.
