The app is available in both Android and iOS versions, and all words in the ISL dictionary can be looked up in Hindi or English, officials said. App sign videos can also be shared on social media.

Notably, ISLRTC had recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on October 6, 2020 for the conversion of NCERT textbooks for Grades 1-12 into Indian Sign Language ( digital format) to make textbooks accessible to children. with a hearing impairment. This year, the ISL electronic content of NCERT Class 6 textbooks was launched, the official added.

Under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Center had launched ISL versions of selected books from the National Book Trust’s ‘Veergatha’ series.

With the joint effort of ISLRTC and NCERT, 500 academic words in Indian Sign Language have been launched. These academic words are used at the secondary level which are often used in history, science, political science and mathematics, the official added.
