Heurelho Gomes advised Antonio Conte to make a big impact and reach the level, just like Mauricio Pochettino did at Tottenham.
Conte, who was appointed by Spurs in November, has enjoyed a mixed level of fortune so far during his tenure.
The 52-year-old went unbeaten in his first nine Premier League games in charge and led Spurs back into contention for a Champions League place at the end of the season.
However, he has seen his side struggle on their momentum since the start of the year, with a bizarre win-lose-win-lose pattern leaving them out of all domestic competitions and catching those above them in the picture.
Despite Tottenham’s unstable form in recent years and seasons, former goalkeeper Gomes believes he can see progress happening with his former employers.
The Brazilian has also backed Conte to emulate the levels of current Paris Saint-Germain manager Pochettino, who spent more than five years building Spurs into a competitive side.

Pochettino didn’t necessarily have as much support as he should have, which made things stale and the reason why Spurs are still in some kind of a mess.
Spurs need to back their managers and someone like Conte has the ideas to rebuild the club, but he needs to be accompanied by financial backing to make it viable.
