Kawasaki W175 brochure leaked online, to be launched in India soon


Kawasaki is gearing up to introduce its retro-styled motorcycle, the Kawasaki W175, to the Indian market. The Japanese bikemaker plans to launch the bike on September 25. A brochure of the bike was released even before the official launch, however.

The leaked brochure also clears the air regarding the model Kawasaki was planning to launch. Previously it was rumored that the brand would introduce the Kawasaki W800, but the brochure confirmed that instead it would be the Kawasaki W175 which would be officially launched on September 25.

The brochure revealed that the Kawasaki W175 will be offered to Indian customers in two primary colors – Ebony and Special Edition Red. The bike has retro drips all over its frame. From the teardrop-shaped fuel tank to the round halogen headlight, from the one-piece seat to the telescoping front forks, the bike is packed with elements that add to the retro aesthetic. On top of that, the bike also favors old-school round mirrors, halogen turn signals, and taillight.

As for the powertrain, the bike will be pulled on the tarmac by an air-cooled 177cc single-cylinder engine that develops a maximum power of 13hp at 7,500rpm and a maximum torque of 13.2Nm at 6 000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and sits neatly in a double-cradle frame. The bike comes with a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters.

The Kawasaki W175 rolls on 17-inch wire-spoke wheels that come with a 270mm front disc and a 110mm rear drum brake setup. The empty mass of the bike is 135 kilograms. The bike sits on a 1320mm long wheelbase.

Currently, there are no details on the price of the bike, but according to reports, the price of the bike is expected to be around Rs 1.50 lakh. The bike is also rumored to be locally made.
