Kerala government launches mobile app to prevent cyber crimes against children


Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 22 (PTI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday launched the ‘Kunjapp’, a mobile application to prevent cyber crimes against children in the state.

Vijayan also inaugurated the training for newly appointed members of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) in Kovalam near here.

Addressing the newly appointed members, the Chief Minister said children should not be subjected to physical, mental or sexual exploitation and members should work together as they have an important role to play in protecting children.

“The CWC and JJB members should ensure that society upholds the laws when it comes to children and ensure that those children who break the law become model citizens. Members play a major role in shaping the next generation,” he added. said.

Vijayan said the duty of CWC and JJB members is to ensure the safety and security of children.

“They (CWC and JJB members) make a decision about the safety and rehabilitation of children living in difficult circumstances. The training is to ensure that they work for the future of the children,” he said. -he declares.

Child exploitation can be reported through the app.
