launches matchmaking app ‘RainbowLuv’ for the LGBTQIA+ community : Newsdrum


Mumbai, Sep 5 (PTI) To reach out to people in the LGBTQIA+ community who are looking for serious and meaningful relationships, rolled out “RainbowLuv” on Monday and is targeting 1.3 crore community membership in three years.

“When it comes to serious matchmaking, the LGBTQIA+ community has been largely underserved and we wanted to provide them with a safe and reliable platform.

“After members of the community contacted us over a year ago, we designed and developed the service after multiple discussions and workshops with the community, so the “RainbowLuv” app is unique in many ways , having been built by the community for the community. We hope this platform will help all LGBTQIA+ members looking for a partner,” Arjun Bhatia, Marketing Director of, told reporters.

He said there was no official estimate of the number of LGBTQIA+ people in India, the society estimates there are over 1,900 people in the country.

“We expect to have up to 110-130 lakh members in the ‘RainbowLuv’ app in three years,” he added.

The app has over 45 gender identities, over 122 orientation tags and over 48 pronouns have been included in the app.

Additionally, Bhatia said that to ensure that the profile picture a member sees and the person they meet are the same, each member must verify their profile by uploading a selfie during the registration process and that is used to verify photos uploaded to the profile. .

“Not only that, you can find genuine profiles whose identity is verified by the government. With RainbowLuv, one has full control over his personal information like photos, phone number and email id. A member can hide their photos and contact details, showing them only to matches they like,” he added. PTI SM HTA
