Chandigarh, Sep 10 (PTI) The Punjab government said on Saturday that it has introduced an online submission and processing feature for applications for obtaining No Objection Certificates to ensure their timely disposal for the regularization of properties located in unauthorized state settlements.

The state government has set a time limit of up to 21 working days to complete the entire process of issuing NOCs.

Housing and Urban Development Minister Aman Arora said this regularization facility can only be used by residents whose properties fall under unauthorized settlements developed before March 19, 2018.

Arora said that the person concerned can now log in to the portal dedicated to the regularization of land and buildings located in unauthorized settlements, which will be processed online.

Until now, applications were processed offline, so applicants had to wait a long time to get NOCs, he said in a statement here.

“Out of ignorance, a considerable number of people had bought properties in unauthorized settlements which had proliferated in recent years. These claimants had invested their hard-earned money to buy plots or other settlements in these settlements,” the official said. minister.

This portal is designed for the regularization of plots and buildings under the municipal corporation and outside the MC area for rapid clearance of applications, he added.

Notably, the Punjab government had notified a policy on October 18, 2018 to regularize plots falling into unauthorized settlements developed before March 19, 2018.
