RSG is committed to providing sufficient and efficient power – Banigo

The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area in Rivers State, Engineer Samuel Nwanosike urged the people of the area to use what the council has given them to provide food, pay for schooling of their children, changing their clothes and living happily as all their needs cannot be met by the government.
Nwanosike made the call when he soiled himself to continue his back-to-farm, back-to-school and business support empowerment program for 80 people in Ward 2 of Isiokpo.
According to him, “Today we are in Ward 2, Isiokpo, continuing our back to farm program, business support empowerment and back to school program.
“What we came here to say today is that it is the agricultural season, we are peasants, the council has planned for you to go and support your agricultural system.
“We can’t feed everyone in the local government of Ikwerre, but if you use what the council has given you to do the actual farming, in a few weeks the result will show. We will have enough food in our market, we will be able to pay our children’s school fees, we will be able to change clothes and live happily”.
Nwanosike pleaded with those not entitled to wait for another round, saying Rivers State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike was the leader of the South-South people and believed in a South-South presidential pursuit.
He said, “The government cannot do everything for everyone at the same time. There are those who did not have yesterday, but have had today. There are those who did not have yesterday and today but who will have tomorrow. What is important is that you stay consistent with your party and know that Chief Nyesom Wike is the leader of the South-South people.
“He is not a traitor. He agreed with the other governors of South-South states that power should go to the South, and he remained consistent in that pursuit.
“And what we are saying clearly is: if you take Chief Nyesom Wike for granted, the people of Rivers will take you for granted at the polls.”
While speaking, Education Supervisor, Ikwerre LGA, Hon. Victor Wagor, assured Nwanosike that the residents of Ward 2 were 100% loyal to him for always taking them away.
In their separate speeches, Councilor representing Ward 2 and Leader of the Ikwerre Legislative Assembly, Hon. Nwobuisi Chikwe-Tasie; President of Ward 2 of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Darosha Kinika; Personal Assistant to the President of Ikwerre LGA, Ms. Ethel Kinika; among others, thanked Nwanosike for building a 1,000-seat hall, appointing more than 18 people from Ward 2 into his government, and annual empowerment of the people, while assuring that Ward 2 would always vote for the DPP.
For their part, the member representing the federal constituency of Ikwerre/Emuoha in the National Assembly, Me Boniface Emerengwa; and the PDP candidate for the Ikwerre constituency for the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Lemchi Nyeche; praised Nwanosike for always making people feel the impact of his administration through his human capital development programs.
The highlight of the event was the defection of a social media influencer from the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ward 2, Mr. Kelvin Amadi Chinwe, who abandoned his party for the PDP.
Speaking at the event, Chinwe pleaded with the PDP leaders especially Nwanosike to forgive him and accept him into the PDP because he found the light in the PDP.
Chinwe was received by Acting PDP Chairman at Ikwerre LGA, Hon. Charles Wobodo, and was handed over to Ward 2 PDP President for proper documentation.
