Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Lewistown Valley Church. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. The Zion men’s group will meet in Memorial Hall on March 26 at 8 a.m.

Card shower

A birthday card shower is being held for Margey Edwards, formerly of Tamaqua, who will celebrate her 85th birthday on March 26. She and her husband, George, owned and operated Edward’s Flowers for many years. Margey is currently a guest at Providence Place: Apt. 211, 149 S. Hunter Highway, Drums, PA 18222.

Saint Pierre

March 20: worship at 9 a.m.; 10:15 a.m. Sunday School; 4 p.m. Confirmation Course; 6 p.m. Girl Scouts. March 21: 7 p.m. play practice. March 22: 6 p.m. Bible study. March 23: 7 p.m. Mid-week Lenten service in Saint-Pierre. March 24: 6 p.m. rehearsal of the cherubim choir; 7:30 p.m. Rehearsal of the senior choir.

March 27: worship at 9 a.m.; 10:15 a.m. Sunday School; 10:30 a.m. board meeting; 4 p.m. Confirmation Course; 6:00 p.m. Girl Scouts; fulfill due orders.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at 10:25 a.m. worship this Sunday at Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are scheduled at 9:15 a.m. and evening worship at 6:30 p.m.

23 March Lenten service at Frieden Lutheran Church, New Ringgold with hymn singing at 7.15pm and service at 7.30pm.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on March 10 with 31 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “God created this day”.

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and over is welcome to attend.

Lenten dinner

Area residents are invited to a Lenten dinner on March 30 hosted by the Tamaqua Zion Lutheran Culinary Team from 4-6 p.m.

Guests can eat in or order takeout. The meal includes baked haddock or chicken fingers, mac and cheese, cooked tomatoes, coleslaw, and dessert.

Dinners can be ordered in advance at www.ziontamaqua.com or by calling 570-668-4451. Pre-orders are accepted until March 23. Walk-ins are welcome.

american primitive

Sunday worship is at 10:30 a.m. at the American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua. There will be no Sunday school until further notice. Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St.
