Keep calm, Swifties: Blondie’s ‘Midnights’ album is coming soon – and as she continues to tease track titles, she’s also sharing some big reveals.

At midnight on September 21 – a month before the album’s October 21 release – Taylor Swift released the first track to “Midnights” via TikTok after the social platform teased the big announcement earlier in the day, kicking off a fun new social media game show. In the initial video – complete with elevator-like music – Swift told fans: “It’s me. Hey, I know I have a habit of dropping cryptic clues and easter eggs when I’m giving you information about new music, and I’m not here to deny it, but I’m here to challenge it Welcome to a new series I call Midnights Mayhem With Me I’m going to use this device state-of-the-art to help me allow fate to decide exactly which titles I will announce and in what order.”

The device in question? A spinning drum, from which she snatched one of 13 balls. The first one? “Track 13, of course. Track 13 is called ‘Mastermind’.”

She followed the first “Midnights Mayhem” with a second TikTok music video September 23. The “second episode” featured, once again, the spinning ball drum and a “special guest”: Meredith, Swift’s cat. The track she revealed is track eight, which she says is called “Vigilante Sh*t.”

For the third part, Meredith was absent but Swift continued. The lead revealed? n° 7, which is entitled “Question…?” The next track in video four was the sixth listing, titled “Midnight Rain”. Fans later discovered the name of track 2: “Maroon”.

And on October 3, Swift revealed that the third track was called “Antihero.” She accompanied TikTok’s usual reveal with a longer video on instagram, explaining more about “Antihero” and its meaning. Said Swift, “Track 3, ‘Antihero’, is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. I really don’t think I’ve dug that deep into my insecurities in that detail before.”

“You know, I have a really hard time with the idea that my life has become unmanageable and that, you know – not to sound too dark – I just have a hard time with the idea of not feeling like a nobody,” admitted the singer-songwriter. . “Like don’t feel bad for me, you don’t need it. This song really is a real walkthrough through all the things I tend to hate about myself – we all hate things about ourselves and it’s all those aspects of the things that we like and dislike about ourselves that we have to accept if we want to be that person I really like ‘Antihero’ because I think it’s really honest .

It was back to regular “Mayhem” lineup on October 5, featuring Swift revealing that track #9 is called “Bejeweled”.

Swift announced “Midnights” at the 2022 VMAs in August, sharing all the details in an Instagram post at midnight on August 29. Along with the album title news, she revealed the cover art: a photo of the singer with heavy blue eye makeup and holding a lighter. She also included a second image with the following text: “We lie awake in love and in fear, in restlessness and in tears. We look at the walls and drink until they answer. We we writhe in our homemade cages and pray that we’re not – right now – about to make a fatal, life-altering mistake This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams The grounds we tread and the demons we face For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go in search – hoping that maybe be, when the clock strikes noon… we’ll meet again.”

“Midnights,” which pairs Swift with frequent collaborator producer Jack Antonoff, is already available for Pre-order and pre-save.
